Whim Golf is a New York golf apparel company founded in 2019 by Colin Heaberg and Will Gisel. Its main product is a merino wool golf shirt. The company says the wool comes from ranches in California, Colorado, Idaho and Nevada. Its product pages say the fabric is knit at mills in Massachusetts or South Carolina and the shirts are sewn and embroidered in New York City. Airmail and CNN both describe the line as made in the US from fibre to finished shirt.

The merino line, including socks, a sweater and hats, accounts for its materials as well as its sewing, which is why the brand sits at the top mark. It is not true of every item. The golf shorts use mesh made in China and a dress shirt and a jacket use Japanese cotton — imported cloth sewn in New York, not imported goods. Two sold-out collaborations sit further out: an edition of thirty hiking shoes made in Portugal, which the page says Whim designed for Tarvas, and a Reebok Classic in Whim colours. Those exceptions are listed here because the site’s own summary does not mention them; its Sheep to Shirt page says Whim has always manufactured its footwear in the USA, and of those two shoes that is not so.
