Valley Forge Flag began in 1882 as a family burlap-bag business. By its own account it started making American flags in the 1920s and opened its first flag factory in Spring City, Pennsylvania during the Depression. The company says its flags were used in President Kennedy’s funeral procession and planted on the moon in 1969. It is still family-run, with its head office in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. Most of the cutting, dyeing and sewing now happens at five plants in South Carolina, with further sites in Pennsylvania and Alabama. The company counts more than 400 staff.
The company says its flags are made in the USA and that it is a founding member of the Flag Manufacturers Association of America, whose seal requires domestic materials and labour. A 2013 South Carolina Commerce Department release on its Kingstree expansion describes the flags as made from domestic materials, and in 2026 a company vice president told the Alliance for American Manufacturing that the fabric is woven, dyed and sewn in the US.
Valley Forge doesn’t sell direct under its own name. Its FAQ sends shoppers to dealers and retailers. The consumer line is Elizabeth Ross®, sold on its own site and on Amazon, and its product pages state US manufacture for the flags, poles and brackets. The wholesale catalogue also lists seasonal, decorative and international flags. Their origin wasn’t checked here, so the mark rests on the American flags and the Elizabeth Ross line.
