Stickley

Stickley has made furniture in Upstate New York since 1900 and today also runs a workshop in Archdale, North Carolina. The about page states that over 90% of its products are handcrafted at those two US locations, naming them rather than settling for a country label.

That 90% is not a rounding statement, and the missing tenth is easy to find once you know where to look. It is not furniture. Stickley’s product pages carry an Origin field, and on the lamps, mirrors and tabletop accents it reads “Crafted by Stickley International, Ltd. in Vietnam” — seven of the 64 accent SKUs on the site, including the floor lamps designed to go with the best-selling Walnut Grove collection. The 44-piece Stickley Designer Rugs range is hand-knotted in Varanasi, India. All of it carries the Stickley name.

So this is a split line and the brand’s mark is the floor. The furniture itself is unaffected: the same Origin field on a bookcase reads “Made in Manlius, New York” with a Made-in-the-USA badge, and the site’s own narrower wording is telling — “Approximately 90% of Stickley furniture is manufactured at our factories in Manlius, New York, and Archdale, North Carolina.”

One trap worth naming, because the names invite the wrong guess: “Origins by Stickley” is a US collection made in Manlius. The imported line is unbadged, and it lives in the lamps, mirrors, rugs and tabletop pieces.
