Randolph Engineering was started south of Boston by two Polish-born machinists, Jan Waszkiewicz and Stanley Zaleski. The company gives 1973 as its founding year; the Boston Globe, writing in 2013, put it at 1972, when the firm began as an optical machinery shop before turning to sunglasses a few years later. It has supplied aviator sunglasses to the US military since the late 1970s, still builds its HGU-4/P Aviator to the military specification, and makes frames in the town of Randolph, Massachusetts, where the Globe counted 60 employees.

The mark here is the floor, for the same reason as Danner’s. Randolph’s own about page says every frame is handcrafted in the USA with domestic and imported components, but its shop also sells a set of military prescription frames whose product pages say they are “made in our NATO allied countries.” So the brand-level mark is the imported one, and the US-built frames are recorded below as products with their own evidence.

Those US-built frames sit at the second mark, not the first. Randolph is candid about it: the Aviator and Concorde pages say “Made in USA from quality U.S. and global components,” and the Globe described the factory bending imported wire into frames. The soldering, plating and polishing happen in Massachusetts, with finishes done by named firms in Rhode Island and Florida; the lens origin is not stated.

For a buyer: the Aviator, Concorde, P3 and Archer lines are the Massachusetts ones. The low-priced prescription frames sold to service members (FGN, Neptune, Triton, Reaper, Maverick, Spartan, Keesler) are the imported ones, and their product pages say so.
