Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day

Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day is the garden-scented cleaning line SC Johnson acquired with Caldrea in 2008 and folded into its Racine, Wisconsin home-cleaning business. Since 2026-08-23 the brand’s own site says where the goods are made: the majority of them, hand soap and dish soap and the multi-surface cleaners among them, come out of a LEED-platinum certified factory on the South Side of Chicago, which the sustainability page names and describes its neighbourhood work around.

That closes the gap this record used to lead with. Until now Mrs. Meyer’s was the one brand in the category resting on a parent company’s footprint and a retailer’s country-of-origin field rather than on a manufacturer’s own words, and the record said so at length. It no longer has to.

The mark stays at the second one, and would have either way: formulated goods — soaps, cleaners, anything blended and filled from oils and botanicals — sit there by default unless a brand accounts for its inputs, and Mrs. Meyer’s does not. Two smaller things to hold onto. The statement says “the majority of our products,” so it is not a claim about the whole catalogue and cannot carry a per-product record. And it puts the plant in Chicago, not Racine; Racine is the business, Chicago is the factory.
