Monitaly

Monitaly is a menswear label that designer Yuki Matsuda started in 1995, run from Meg Company in Torrance, California, alongside his footwear brand Yuketen. About four in ten current products, including tees, sweats, trousers, jackets and hats, have pages giving the country of origin as Los Angeles, and the leather belts are listed as made in the USA.

The rest is less clear. Four pieces, mostly from a collaboration capsule, are made in India, and about four in ten products, including most of the signature shirts, give no origin at all. We found one independent product write-up describing a Monitaly jacket as made in Los Angeles, but nothing covering the brand’s production more broadly. The record sits at the fourth mark until the brand states where the unlabelled pieces are made or independent sources confirm it.
