LupinePet has been building collars and leashes in the White Mountains since 1991, in a workshop that has never moved, and it backs every one of them with a guarantee that covers chewing. The video hook writes itself. The verification is more interesting than the hook.

The company’s own account is unusually checkable — one town, one factory, over sixty people, all cutting and sewing on site. It got there the hard way: the founders looked for a US cut-and-sew contractor, could not find one who would meet their standard, and decided to do the manufacturing themselves.

They looked just as hard for domestic patterned webbing and did not find it. The material comes from Taiwan and Hong Kong. That is not a mark against LupinePet — the jacquard webbing that makes these collars what they are was never being woven at scale in New Hampshire — but it is exactly the fact that separates the second mark from the first, and the candidate list that sent us here had this brand pencilled in at the top mark.
