Lone Star Grillz

Lone Star Grillz is a family-owned fabrication shop in Conroe, Texas that builds custom offset, vertical and pellet smokers one at a time. The about page frames the operation as a fully tooled fabrication shop working in steel, stainless and aluminum in-house, and the contact page names the Conroe facility — so the “handcrafted one at a time” claim attaches to a specific US shop, not a slogan.

Two outside sources now back that up. Postcards Magazine visited in 2017 and described made-to-order pits built by hired fabricators on a first-come basis, and the CNC machine builder AKS Cutting Systems published a 2018 spotlight recording the plasma table it installed at the shop the year before. Both are worth reading with an eye on the address: both put the shop in Willis, up Interstate 45 from Conroe, where it sat for roughly the second half of the 2010s. The company began in Conroe, moved to Willis around 2013, and is back in Conroe at 3901 FM 1485 today, which is the address the brand publishes and the zip the Texas Comptroller carries for Lone Star Grillz and Fabrication LLC.

These are welded, made-to-order pits with a large following among competition pitmasters, which is consistent with domestic fabrication rather than an imported line rebadged.
