Dr. Squatch

Dr. Squatch makes cold-process bar soap in Rancho Dominguez, in the industrial belt south of Los Angeles, and says so in a single sentence that does more work than most: products are formulated in the USA with ingredients from across the globe.

That is the second mark, and the brand put itself there. Domestic manufacture, imported inputs — the ordinary shape of a formulated good, stated rather than glossed. The wording also quietly excludes the non-formulated items in the range, so a soap saver or a grooming tool does not inherit it.

One thing the record should carry forward: Unilever agreed to acquire the brand in 2025. Ownership does not move a mark, because the mark is about where a thing is made. But acquisitions are the most common way a manufacturing footprint moves without any announcement, so this is a re-check to make early rather than on schedule.
