Buck Knives is a fourth-generation family company that has run its own knife factory in Post Falls, Idaho since relocating from California. Its flagship folders — the 110 and 119 among them — are built in Idaho and carry a lifetime “Forever Warranty.”

It is a split line. A smaller number of lower-volume lines, chiefly the Silver Creek and Hookset fishing knives, are imported and sold under the same name, so the brand’s mark here is the floor and the Idaho knives carry their own marks below.

Buck makes no speech about this anywhere on its site, and it does not need to: it puts an Origin row in every product’s specification table and fills it in. On the 110 it reads “Knife made in the USA”. On the 225 Silver Creek it reads “Imported”. That is the whole answer, on the page, before you buy — and it is better disclosure than most of the catalogue on this site manages.

One detail worth catching, because it explains Buck’s careful wording. The 110’s origin row says “Knife made in the USA”, not “Made in the USA”, and the same page says “Imported sheath.” The knife is American; the leather it comes in is not.
