Benchmade

Benchmade machines, finishes and hand-sharpens its knife blades at its own factory in Oregon City, Oregon, where it cuts more than a million blades a year from steel. The homepage states the Oregon City manufacturing directly and the local chamber of commerce corroborates the factory address.

This record used to say the brand “also carries a smaller number of fully imported models”. Nothing on benchmade.com supports that today. The whole catalogue was read on 2026-09-20 — 750 products — and not one states a country of origin, names an imported line or carries an origin tag; the pages that would normally carry the admission say nothing either, and the imported Red Class line the sentence probably referred to is no longer on the site. So the sentence is gone rather than softened. This is not a split line on any evidence we can find.

There is a different gap worth stating, and it is the reason this record carries no product records. Benchmade makes no origin claim on any individual product page. There is no Origin or Made In field in its specifications table; the Bugout’s rendered page does not contain the string “USA” outside the country selector. The two things that look like per-SKU claims are not. A “from Oregon City” badge sits in a hard-coded strip beside “Free Sharpening” and “Lifetime Warranty” and appears unchanged on a T-shirt listing. A “HOW IT’S MADE” block ending “our knives are proudly crafted in our state-of-the-art facility in Oregon City, Oregon” is identical on every page it appears on, including a waxed-canvas knife roll, which is not a knife.

So the mark here rests on the factory, which is well evidenced, and not on any statement Benchmade makes about the knife in front of you. A per-SKU origin field would settle it, and Benchmade does not publish one.
